Selection Process

The KVS Selection Process for Class 1 is unique as it does not involve any entrance exam or interview for the child. It is entirely based on a Lottery System (Draw of Lots) and Priority Categories. First, seats are filled under the RTE Quota, followed by Different Abled categories. Then, the remaining seats are filled based on the Transferable/Non-transferable status of the parents' jobs (Central Govt employees get the highest priority). Finally, the Single Girl Child lottery is conducted for the designated seats.

  • Phase 1: Online Registration on the KVS Admission Portal.
  • Phase 2: Verification of Application Data by KVS.
  • Phase 3: Conduct of Online Lottery for different categories (RTE, SC/ST, OBC, SGC).
  • Phase 4: Release of Provisional Selection Lists (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
  • Phase 5: Document Verification at the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya.
  • Phase 6: Final Admission and Fee Submission (where applicable).

Admission Pattern

Since this is a primary school admission, there is no Exam Pattern. Instead, the "Pattern" refers to how seats are distributed. Total seats per section are typically 40 - 70 (approax). The distribution follows a strict sequence to ensure all Reserved Categories and Priority Service Categories are accommodated according to the KVS Admission Guidelines 2026-27.
