Selection Process
The JPSC Selection Process is a rigorous three-stage cycle designed to pick the best administrative talent. Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next. The marks from the Prelims are for screening only and not added to the final merit.
- Preliminary Examination: Objective type screening test (2 papers).
- Main Examination: Descriptive written test consisting of 6 papers.
- Interview (Personality Test): Candidates equal to 2.5 times the vacancies are called.
- Document Verification: Verification of original certificates at the interview stage.
- Medical Examination: Final health check-up before appointment.
Exam Pattern
The Preliminary Exam consists of two compulsory papers (GS-I and GS-II) of 200 marks each. There is no negative marking. The Main Exam has 6 descriptive papers totaling 950 marks, followed by a 100-mark interview.
